Keep doing the things that lead you toward your goal, EVERYDAY; and limit or avoid doing those things that interfere with your progress.
Don't focus on your ultimate goal, focus on your day to day progress. In time, you will reach your goal. Remember, it's about progress, not perfection!

I wanted you to know that I bought a big bag of kale and have been making myself a salad every day for lunch, putting in cucumbers, and carrots, as well as a tiny bit of a mixture of walnuts and cranberries that I found at the supermarket and I've been enjoying it so much! I've been eating breakfast as you suggested, at work every morning I usually have a yogurt and some nuts. I've been utilizing the ideas that we talked about and doing very well and even enjoying myself. According to my scale at home, I think I've lost about 3 pounds, but I'll be interested to see what yours says. No more donuts for dinner since we talked. Thanks for everything so far. Looking forward to next week.

Handouts were and are very helpful. Better able to understand nutrition labels - meant for 2000 calories/day diet, not for me! #calories I needed per day, with and without workout. Portion size. I had no idea of the portion size for a banana or baked potato! Understand good carbs. Encouragement that I could lose weight despite chronic neck/back pain. Also, I wanted to share my recent labs with you! I Haven't had these numbers for years!! Thanks again! Cholesterol down to 150, LDL down to 74, HDL up to 58, VLDL down to 18, A1C down to 5.3 (from 5.8), glucose down to 99
Ms. Arteche, thank you so much for meeting with me and educating me on how to improve my diet and my health. I am already developing a daily menu filled with good options. You're a wonderful person. A few months ago my doctor sent me to see you about my poor eating habits. At the time, I weighed 197 lbs. That seems like long ago, considering how I've changed my diet. I used to eat cheesecake, pizza, and lots of chocolate and ice cream. I now eat salads with leafy greens several times a week, fruit 3-5 times a day, fish three times a week, drink lots of water, walk three times a day, swim a mile three times a week, including planks and dumbbells. Thanks to your knowledge and guidance, I now weigh 182.8 and intend to remain that way. Thank you so much.
By the way, kale has become my new favorite! finding so many ways to have it. Thank you. See you next week.
I have lost 2 pounds - YAY! and I bought a new exercise mat, so I promise to be ready to go next week. Thanks for doing this. I am really enjoying it.
